The definition of Indomitable Spirit is being unable to be tamed, overcomed or conquered.
Black is the opposite of white and means the student is mature and skilled enough in TaeKwonDo. It also is an indication of being impenetrable for fear and darkness. Their journey is complete.
The Poom belt is awarded to the student that has shown the knowledge and skill to finish their journey to Black Belt. They have sacrificed their time to truly be a master.
Brown stripe means that the student has achieved enough skill and knowledge to become worthy of the belt
The color Brown represents the ripening or maturing process as that of an advanced TaeKwonDo student whose techniques are beginning to mature.
Red stripe means the skilled student is learning patience and careful thought. By staying calm, a student can truly focus.
The color red indicates danger. The student is warned to practice the control of their movements. The color red also warns an opponent.
Blue stripe means that the student is halfway in their journey and are becoming more skilled in the art.
The color blue indicates that a student is reaching higher, like a plant that is growing towards the sky.
Green stripe is a sign that the student's leafs are changing color through dedication and skill.
The color green indicates that a student is growing in the art of Taekwondo. The color of the belt is compared to a plant growing its leafs.
The orange belt indicates that the student is being nurtured and beginning to grow in knowledge but not skill.
The color Yellow indicates that the student is getting to know the basics. It is compared to a plant growing its roots. The student is not skilled in sparring but instead shows the four-directional movements.
The white stripe is the students transition from the beginning of their journey and understanding the basic skills.
The color white indicates that a student is "innocent" and has no knowledge of Taekwondo. The seed is planted and their journey begins.
